Come join ACPLS on Tuesday, April 25th, from 12p-3p in room 165 for some art therapy to take a quick mental break before finals. We’ll have snacks, coloring book pages, and an art law movie—everything you need for a midday session of rest and relaxation!
Please join the ACPLS for our first meeting of the year on Thursday, 9/10 at 3:30pm in room C40. Food will be provided.
The ACPLS exec board will be sharing information about the organization, upcoming events, and how you can get involved. It will be a great opportunity to meet your exec board, ask questions, and throw out ideas if you have them.
The ACPLS will be hosting the Student Art Fair on Thursday, April 2nd. Set up will begin at 3pm in the lobby and students are welcome to stop by and view anytime thereafter. A reception with food and drinks will begin at 5pm in the lobby. The reception will be for the art fair as well for the student talent show, which will be held in the auditorium. No admission fee.
If you intend to participate in the Art Fair, please submit (to this email) the following information at your earliest convenience, but no later than Friday, March 27th:
- The format of the piece(s) you will be submitting (ie. photography, paint, sculpture, etc)
- The name of your piece(s) – if you have one
- The approximate size of your piece(s), so that we are able to provide an appropriate viewing platform for your work and are able to accommodate space for everyone
Marci Rolnik Walker, Legal Director of Lawyers for the Creative Arts, will be speaking on the Illinois Consignment of Art Act and protecting rights in visual artwork. A 15 minute Q&A will follow. Lunch will be provided.
Join the ACPLS for its first event of the year! On Monday, February 16th at 8pm we will be hosting a fundraiser at the Sadsacks & Wisecracks comedy show located at the High-Hat Club. No cover charge, just a suggested donation. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
Calling all artists! The ACPLS will be hosting a student art fair at Kent on April 2nd. All students and staff are encouraged to display their art work (paintings, photography, graphic design, performance art…). More details to follow. Start thinking about what you want to enter!
