Mission Statement
Our mission as the Chicago-Kent College of Law Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (C-K APALSA) is to better facilitate meaningful change and to promote and address the needs and concerns of the Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and West Asian communities within Chicago-Kent and the surrounding Chicagoland area.
C-K APALSA aims to:
- Build a community in which Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and West Asian law students and professors feel seen, heard and supported;
- Create spaces for members to discuss concerns, needs, and ideas to facilitate meaningful change;
- Promote and facilitate a greater understanding of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and West Asian culture at the law school;
- Serve as a vehicle for Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and West Asian political activity and awareness;
- Work with other diversity and minority organizations toward the realization of common goals;
- Serve as a professional network for members and the Chicago-Kent community.
