Centro de Trabajadores Unidos (Immigrant Workers Project): Legal Clinic Volunteers
Immigrant Workers Project is a worker center on the southeast side of Chicago that educates workers on their rights, develops leadership within the immigrant community, organizes workers as they fight for their rights in the workplace and advocates for policy change that increases standards for immigrant workers. In partnership with Community Activism Law Alliance (CALA), it offers free legal services to members of the community in immigration, labor, housing and criminal expungement issues. Bilingual ability (Spanish) not necessary but preferred.
Location: 3200 E. 91st St.
Date/Time: Every Thursday, 4-8PM
National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) Seeking Policy Interns
NIJC’s Policy Team works to build bridges among supporters of immigrant rights and strengthen advocates’ capacity to monitor current policies, expose violations of human and constitutional rights, and present viable recommendations to the White House, members of Congress, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and international human rights bodies.
