The Intellectual Property Law Society is co-hosting this informational and networking event with the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) Young Members Committee and the Chicago-Kent Center for Design, Law & Technology. Our esteemed guests will first provide an introduction to industrial design and design patents. They will then discuss how designers consider and use existing designs when designing a product and how the law treats existing designs. Professor Dinwoodie will next lead a panel discussion regarding how designers and lawyers think differently about prior art and its use and usefulness. The evening will conclude with a networking reception in the Chicago-Kent lobby at 8:00 p.m.
