At Chicago-Kent, Emily has worked hard to distinguish herself as a zealous advocate and leader. As a member of the Chicago-Kent trial advocacy team, Emily has twice competed at the Tournament of Champions and the Region 8 tournament where she was a finalist in 2014 and finished 1st in 2015. She was also selected to be one of sixteen students nationwide to compete for recognition as the nation’s best student advocate at the Top Gun Mock Trial Competition. Most recently, she competed at the National Trial Competition. Her and her teammate won $10,000 for the school and she was awarded the George A. Spielberg Award for Best Oral Advocate. This experience gave her numerous opportunities to speak about Trial Advocacy to current and prospective students on panels like Admitted Students Weekend. She will also return next year to Trial Team as a coach. – nomination text
