Public Interest Resource Center

The Public Interest Resource Center (PIRC) is a student-staffed office at Chicago-Kent that assists other students in achieving their public service goals. PIRC provides information to students interested in all kinds of public interest, volunteerism, and pro bono legal work. Primarily, PIRC assists students in finding both legal and non-legal service projects that align with their interests, from one-time volunteer opportunities to ongoing service initiatives.

PIRC also oversees the tracking of student volunteer hours and awards the Chicago-Kent Certificate of Service and Dean’s Distinguished Public Service Award, which recognize outstanding student volunteer work, at the Public Interest Awards each spring.

If you have any questions on volunteer hours reporting, opportunities, or would like to set up an appointment with a PIRC Student Counselor, you can send them an email at pirc@kentlaw.iit.edu.
