Law students gain valuable real-life experience at the SHRC, which promotes public interest law and pro bono work. The volunteer effort at the SHRC teaches students early in their legal careers the value of using their skills to provide assistance to indigent people. Volunteering at the SHRC is open to Chicago-Kent students and any hours volunteered may be submitted through PIRC towards the Chicago-Kent Certificate of Service or as part of the Public Interest Certificate Program.
