To kick off 4/20 weekend we’re going to introduce the community to Chicago’s cannabis industry. Most cannabis events remain closed off to the general public, but we want Chicagoans to get to know their local dispensaries, advocates, and legislators as legalization rolls out in 2019.
Currently seeking event sponsors, merch for gift bags, and companies/organizations that would like set up a table at the riverfront event. Email cannabislawsociety@kentlaw.iit.edu for more details.

It’s no secret police practice has long-resulted in a disproportionate number of criminal cannabis charges depending on race. If you missed James Forman, Jr.’s Chicago-Kent speech in 2017, this is a great place to join the conversation. Forman taught us that cries for drug-related solutions do get funding, but these funds are channeled into creating criminals. Keep following Chicago-Kent’s Cannabis Law Society to find out where the divide between “drugs” and “medicine” begin to blur.
