Established in the 2013-14 academic year, the Federal Bar Association Chicago-Kent Law Student Division (FBA Chicago-Kent) strives to build a community of students who aspire to practice in any area of Federal law and to build connections between those students and the extraordinary lawyers and judges that comprise the FBA Chicago Chapter. Whether through weekly study groups, speaker-led events, leadership and service opportunities, or participation in FBA Chicago Chapter activities, we are here to support and help each other reach our career goals.
The Federal Bar Association is a national organization representing the Federal legal profession. It consists of more than 16,000 federal lawyers, including 1,200 federal judges, who work together to promote the sound administration of justice and integrity, quality and independence of the judiciary. The FBA also provides opportunities for scholarship and for judges and lawyers to professionally and socially interact.
The FBA Chicago Chapter is the local Chicago-area representative of the FBA. It is one of the largest FBA chapters with nearly 400 members and offers a wide variety of programs and events for judges and attorneys engaged in federal practice. The Chapter also has a variety of federal practice subcommittees to facilitate networking and advocacy opportunities.
