Hundreds of volunteers are needed to ensure American’s with Disability Act (ADA) accessibility at as many as 1400 polling places throughout Chicago on Primary Day, March 17th. This is a great volunteer opportunity.

During this training held at Chicago-Kent you will learn how to:

Inspect polling places on Election Day for ADA accessibility

Use an upgraded app on your own smart phone or tablet to send in the results of your inspections. Survey on your own or with a partner.

Pledge your choice of 4 or 8 hours with flexible start/end times between 6am – 7pm on Tuesday, March 17th (please note this is during Chicago-Kent’s Spring Break week; and the date coincides with St. Patrick’s Day)

Volunteers RSVP here: www.equipforequality.org/VAC12

Voting Access Chicago is an initiative of Equip for Equality, Illinois’ leading disability rights organization, in partnership with the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners and many partner law schools, law firms, and corporations. Our goal is simple:

To ensure that Chicago’s 460,000 older adults and people with disabilities can vote at their local polling places – like everyone else!

This project with make the promise of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Help America Vote Act a reality by ensuring everyone can vote.

This session at Chicago-Kent is sponsored by: Disability Advocacy Law Student Association (DALSA), the Student Bar Association, American Constitution Society, and Kent Justice Foundation – with the support of the Career Services Office/Public Interest Program.

FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED!
