Student Speak Survey: IIT Center for Research and Service, in partnership with Chicago-Kent SBA and IIT students, developed the 2020 Student Speak survey to assess student challenges in the pandemic. The Center for Research and Service shared this email with students in late January. Please check your email for the link to the survey, and complete before February 14, 2020. This survey will inform university leadership about how you were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and what you think of Illinois Tech’s response to it. By completing this survey you will get a chance to win one of many $20 electronic gift cards.
Interested in submitting a paper to a competition? The law library has created a guide to student legal writing competitions. For more information, please see the library blog post about the guide.
This year BLSA and SBA are presenting the Nickolas Johnson Writing Competition. In 2018, we lost a fellow classmate and BLSA member. This writing prize in Nickolas Johnson’s memory is to encourage students to tackle issues of mental health on campus and propose an idea to be implemented by BLSA and SBA for the upcoming school year. The competition funding is donation based, and if you would like to donate please donate here, arogers11.
The Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property is currently accepting applications for next year’s Associate Editor positions! If you are interested in Intellectual Property or are interested in gaining Bluebook editing experience, this would be a great opportunity. As an Associate Editor, you would assist Executive Article Editors in reviewing Journal articles for quality and accuracy. The Journal is a student-run publication, which publishes two issues per year. These publications offer in-depth analyses of fundamental issues affecting intellectual property rights and timely, succinct reviews of current issues in the field. The Journal is the official publication of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board Bar Association. To apply, please email a resume and a statement of interest to journal or apply via our website.
