Alderwoman Susan Sadlowski Garza, 10th Ward defeated the incumbent in the last election by only 20 votes to become one of 13 new city council members - she is the first representative of the Chicago Teachers Union to be elected to this office and a leading voice of the new progressive movement in City Hall.
