We are excited to officially announce that the Lambdas will be organizing and supporting up to two teams at this year’s Williams Institute Moot Court Competition. This is not Chicago-Kent’s first time competing at the Williams Institute Competition—our very own Professor Cherish Keller, Chicago-Kent alumna, won the first ever Competition in 2005.

Thankfully, with support from alumni, the Lambdas, Professor Keller and the Moot Court Honor Society, and the teams’ faculty sponsor Professor Shapiro, we have been able to launch this new tradition.

If you would like to apply for a spot, please email your resume, a one-page personal statement, and a writing sample (e.g. your 1L appellate brief) to Professor Keller at ckellerschick by 12pm on Friday, October 25. We will then make offers to selected finalists by Friday, November 1.

Thank you, and good luck to all applicants!

ELS Statement: ? ? CLIMATE STRIKE TODAY ? ?

The Chicago-Kent College of Law Environmental Law Society and the National Lawyers Guild accepts the reality of climate science and the effects of climate change on our planet. Human induced climate change is an urgent issue, particularly for young people who will be living with these effects for generations to come. We understand the importance of students being allowed to express their views in an effect to amplify awareness on this critical issue. Therefore, we support Chicago-Kent students’ absence so they may represent their views on climate change in light of the global climate strike.

Inspired by young climate activist Greta Thunberg, there will be a local climate strike happening in Chicago today. The Chicago climate strike will be 11am-3pm. The march begins at the Grant Park intersection of S. Columbus Dr. and E. Roosevelt Rd. and marches towards Federal Plaza.
