Supreme Court Intellectual Property Review

This Fall, IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law is proudly hosting the Supreme Court Intellectual Property Review (SCIPR). SCIPR is a conference designed to provide intellectual property practitioners, jurists, legal academics, and law students with a review of IP cases from the U.S. Supreme Court’s previous Term, a preview of cases on the docket for the upcoming Term, and a discussion of cert. petitions to watch.

The Honorable Timothy B. Dyk will speak at SCIPR. Judge Dyk was appointed by President Clinton to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has subsequently ruled on a number of significant IP cases. He is also the co-author of the chapter on patents in the third edition of the treatise Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts.

The Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property will offer to publish Judge Dyk’s address in its Fall 2016 issue. Then, the Journal will invite academics to write responses to the address, which will be published in the Spring 2017 issue.

SCIPR will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at Chicago-Kent College of Law. It includes a continental breakfast sponsored by Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a lunch sponsored by McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP, and a reception sponsored by McAndrews, Held & Malloy Ltd. SCIPR is open to students, academics, and the general public.
